May-Britt Malbec

Winemaker
May-Britt Malbec began her career as a sommelier in Sweden, and worked in many of Stockholm's top restaurants. Eventually she started her own restaurant, "Le Bateau," on the Royal Star, a luxury yacht built in 1964 for King Frederic of Denmark.
May-Britt has received numerous distinctions as a sommelier, including the Prince Henri-Melchior de Polignac award in 1992. The contest was judged by Serena Sutcliffe-Sotheby's Master of Wine-and designated May-Britt the best sommelier in the Nordic countries. As a result, she soon began serving on important industry juries, such as Le Mondial, for the best sommelier in the world, and Trophée Ruinart, for the best European sommelier.
May-Britt moved to Bordeaux in 1995 to oversee public relations at Château Latour in Pauillac. There she met Denis Malbec, Château Latour's Cellar Master and Enologist, and, since 2000, the pair have become a renowned winemaking team. They oversee winemaking for Captûre Wines, bringing a wealth of experience to the intense expression of grapes from Tin Cross Vineyards.
